DSAT Tec Deep Instructor Course

You may have gone deep, but are you ready to teach it? For those of you who are serious about becoming a technical instructor or joining the DSAT instructional team, the Tec Deep Diver course is the best and most comprehensive technical diving instruction in the market today. DSAT's TecRec program instructional philosophies and course goals directly address the more demanding and challenging nature of technical diving.

Prerequisites:

• Be a renewed PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor or higher
• Be a PADI Enriched Air Diver (or other qualifying certification)
• Be a PADI Enriched Air Instructor or have completed the PADI Enriched Air Specialty Instructor Course
• Be a PADI Deep Diver Instructor or have completed the PADI Deep Diver Specialty Instructor Course
• Have a minimum of 100 logged dives where at least 20 dives were made with enriched air nitrox, 25 dives were deeper than 60 feet and at least 15 dives were deeper than 100 feet.

Post Requisites:

• Be a renewed PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer or higher
• Be a PADI Enriched Air Instructor.
• Be a PADI Deep Diver Specialty Instructor.
• Be certified as a DSAT Tec Deep Diver (or other qualifying certification). Instructor candidates without this certification need to also attend an Apprentice Tec & Tec Deep Diver course.
• Have assisted with at least two DSAT Tec Deep Diver courses or one Apprentice Tec course and one Tec Deep Course (or have other qualifying assisting experience)
• Have a minimum of 270 logged dives with at least 25 stage decompression dives that had a maximum depth deeper than 130 feet.
• Have certified a total of ten or more PADI Deep Divers and / or PADI Enriched Air Divers. Any combination is acceptable.
• Have successfully completed the Tec Deep Instructor Standards Exam and Tec Deep Instructor Theory / Practical Application Exam.
• Meet the peer review waterskill requirements listed on the DSAT Tec Deep Instructor Application.

You are responsible for your own materials, equipment, lodging, fills, admissions, etc.

Required equipment: Double cylinders (70 cf or larger each) with isolation manifold, primary & secondary regulators one with seven foot hose and one with SPG, two stage/deco cylinders each equipped with regulator and SPG, wings style BCD with harness, dive computer and backup dive computer or backup depth gauge and timer, backup deco information (computer or tables), appropriate exposure protection, weight system if needed, jon line, signal tube, reel, lift bag, primary cutting device on upper body, backup cutting device, slate, compass, mask, fins, logbook.

Recommended equipment: Laptop computer with deco software, oxygen analyzer, first aid kit, emergency oxygen.
